I sometimes use facebook - it is quicker to email people particularly if you happen to get them online. I also enjoy viewing friend's pictures and like to put out questions in my status for feedback i.e. recommendations on places to go etc. I have concerns that my kids might put items on that are personal or pictures that they can't take back so have spoken to them about that. I will continue to use facebook after Betty Blogger.

I tagged some travel items on delicious. One was on budget travel and one on trip itineraries called "tripit". I also looked through sites on packing lightly and couch-surfing. I added the tags travel, budget and plan. I don't usually save favourite sites much so don't think I'd use delicious frequently.

I sometimes use Youtube to look up how to do something like rules to a game. It can be a bit of a time sucker though. Youtube is popular because it is accessible and diverse in its content. We use streamed videos at HDSB now instead of dvds and video as it provides equal access (if you have a data projector). I have watched "how to embed" a video 5 times now but have yet to get it to work. Will continue. 17 year old son couldn't get it to work either.

Why I joined Betty Blogger...

I joined Betty Blogger after hearing about it at a work inservice. I am a librarian at two schools in Oakville and hope it will increase my ability to navigate online and understand the web 2.0 tools primarily to help students. It took me a couple of minutes to - duh - figure out how to choose my template for the blog until I finally figured out I had to press the enter key. Anyone else?
